Spain: AEPD publishes guidance on processing of personal data using WiFi tracking
Spain’s data protection authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, issued joint guidance with three regional DPAs regarding entities seeking to deploy Wi-Fi tracking technology, which allows mobile devices to be tracked through the Wi-Fi signals they emit. The DPAs said before such technology can be employed, a data protection impact assessment must be conducted. Read more.
